The paired Anatomy & Physiology I (BIOL 2401) and Biology Fundamentals (BIOL 1308) courses are designed for students who have struggled to pass the A&P assessment or students who wish to complete BIOL 1308 but do not want to delay completion of BIOL 2401.
Paired sections of BIOL 2401 and BIOL 1308 will be taught as an integrated course, students will cover both Biology Fundamentals and Anatomy and Physiology I objectives in one semester. Students must enroll in BOTH BIOL 2401 and BIOL 1308, no exceptions will be made regardless of previous classes completed. Classes will be held Monday-Thursday at the same time of day (excluding lab) and campus. It is crucial that students attend both the BIOL 1308 and BIOL 2401 lectures as material from either course may be taught on any of the four lectures days.
Students who choose to enroll in the paired sections of BIOL 1308 and BIOL 2401 will not be required to pass the A&P I Assessment Test in order to register.
Registration for the paired sections of 1308 and 2401 is by permission only. Click this link https://forms.gle/ujgvT27XLJNYdgfw7 and complete the form to request permission if you would like to register for one of these courses. NOTE: You must have an ACCeID in order to receive permission
Students are granted permission to register on a first come first serve basis. This process takes 3-5 business days from the time that students submit their requests. Please note that you will not be notified when your permission is complete. Students can tell if they have permission by attempting to register for their preferred paired course. If it has been more than 5 business days since you have submitted your request and you are still unable to register, please contact the Biology department at (512) 223-7475 as there may have been an issue in processing your request.
If a student wants to register for a paired section but there are no available seats the student may wait-list that section. However, students need only wait-list the BIOL 2401 part of the paired courses as that wait-list will apply to the corresponding section of BIOL 1308 as well. A separate wait-list will not be available for the paired BIOL 1308 sections.
