AC2 and TLCC Host ACC’s “First Annual AC2 Commercialization Seminar Series and Poster Symposium”
Over 30 faculty, staff, students & industry partners gathered for ACC’s first annual AC2 seminar series and poster symposium. Luminex Corp’s Dr. Amy Altman, Vice President of Biodefense & Protein Diagnostics gave a riveting talk on her work on xMAP technology and its application in biodefence. ACC Biotech program graduate Christina Anzaldua discussed her internship project with Russ Peterman on autoimmune disease. Congrats Christina on your new job at XBiotech!
Congratulations Poster Symposium winner Nilofar Hassan Seyed on an excellent poster and snagging first place award on your internship poster. Nilofar’s internship was in the Molecular Biology division at Texas Department of State Health Services where she tested human samples for Salmonella and Shigella. Second place was awarded to Jennifer Felix also at Texas Department of State Health Services. Congrats Jennifer on being hired on at the media department full time! Liz Kent shared her cell culture and 3D bio-printing research at TeVido Biodevices, and received third place accolades.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Dr. Michael Douglas Executive Director of Texas Life-Sciences Collaborative Center (TLCC) for hosting this wonderful event and providing poster awards! And also, thank you to Dr. Tyler Drake, Director of ACC’s new upcoming Commercialization ACCelerator for hosting all his hard work at organizing this event!
