The Biotechnology Program has been placing students in industry for over twenty years and continues to grow with the advent of the wet-lab industry incubator space at the new Highland Campus and its cutting edge technology that will facilitate direct partnerships with our students and local biotech companies! This has been made possible with the input from the local advisory board.
Before the program was started the competencies for the program were created by assembling local lab techs to determine the skills required. The supervisors of those lab techs made up the 1st Advisory Board. The Advisory Board is made of local Industry, government and university shareholders that have an interest determining curricula needed for the program and placing of program graduates. The Advisory Board meets once per year, usually in May and may be contacted throughout the year if urgent changes are needed. If you think that you would like serve on the committee, please contact Steven Spurlock and Linnea Fletcher.
