Tom Glenn retired from Leander Independent School District in 2008 after serving 34 years in education and 20 years as the Superintendent of Leander ISD. During his tenure at LISD the district grew from about 4,000 students to about 26,000 students. Over 25 educational facilities were built or renovated during this time, resulting in millions of square feet of schools for students and patrons.

Under his leadership the district developed and codified the “Guiding Documents” of the organization. These include The Graduate Profile, The Ten Ethical Principles, and the LISD Learning Model. These documents provide the basis for student development and achievement which has been the hallmark of this District over the last two decades.

Along with administrative professionals, campus leaders, teachers, students and parents Glenn transformed Leander into an educational leader among Texas School Districts. This was done while dealing with the pressures of being one of the fastes growing Districts in the State.

Glenn now spends his time volunteering on several boards and committees including the Greater Leander Chamber of Commerce Board, Cedar Park Regional Hospital Board, and others in the LISD area. He and his wife Dee Ann enjoy spending time with children and grandchildren, all of whom live in the area.
