Here’s how you can help.
The Austin Community College District is assisting relief efforts for ACC students and other flood survivors impacted by Hurricane Harvey.
Your donation can help keep ACC students impacted by Harvey on track. ACC launched a GoFundMe campaign called Harvey HELP (Higher Education Learning Pathways): Relief to Higher Ed Students Affected by Hurricane Harvey in partnership with a cross-section of the higher-education community. Funds raised support emergency student-aid programs at ACC and other Texas colleges and universities. These programs help students in need with food, shelter, transportation, child care, health care needs, and more. Donations may be made online at https://www.gofundme.com/harveyhelpstudents.
ACC also has learned of additional resources and relief efforts underway for Harvey flood survivors including:
- The American Red Cross: Help people affected by Hurricane Harvey by visiting redcross.org, calling 1- 800-RED CROSS or texting the word HARVEY to 90999 to make a $10 donation. Donations enable the Red Cross to prepare for, respond to, and help people recover from this disaster.
- Austin Pets Alive: Accepting donations, foster care-through-adoption, and volunteer help. For more information visit their website.
- Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN): ADRN is collecting donations for flood survivors including shelter kits and clean up kits. ACC will deliver shelter donations directly to the ADRN. Visit their website for more information.
- Central Texas Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD): Central Texas VOAD is a humanitarian association of independent voluntary organizations that are active in one or more phases of disaster: preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation.
