Overview

What is Economics?

Economics provides an understanding of how the world works. Economists examine how resources such as labor, land and capital are distributed by society to produce goods and services. Economists frequently perform research that involves data collection and analysis in order to track economic trends that are later used in forecasts for government, business and the media. Economists also provide these groups with research in such areas as energy costs, inflation, interest rates, and taxes, to name but a few of the current issues that are of vital importance in today’s world.
