The Austin Community College Foundation was established in 1991 to expand higher education and training throughout the Austin Community College District. Its mission is to raise funds to ensure student success and develop community support for the college. The Foundation is led by a volunteer board of business and community leaders whose dedication to education  supports and allows for teh growth of College initiatives. An established set of values guides the Foundation in its actions and a shared vision with ACC yields well-articulated strategies for these actions. Members of the board of directors share an inspired passion to assist the ACC in achieving excellence, which, in turn, will impact our community, students, and employers. Over $7 million has been raised through the Foundation to support college programs and scholarships. For more information about the Foundation and what it has to offered go to ACC Foundation

Meet our 2013 SEMI/Frank Squires Scholarship Recipient and President Austin RESA 2013-2014

Dina Knight

I’ve decided to attend ACC in order to develop and support sustainable and renewable energy technologies that our planet desperately needs and to earn a living wage while working in a career that I love. Through receiving generous scholarship support I’ve been able to continue my school career with ACC through the Electronics department, expand my leadership skills and give back to my community.

I am currently the President of Austin RESA (Renewable Energy Student Association) and have been the lead producer along with two RESA officers of the Greener Choices Earth Day Festival which was held at ACC, Riverside Campus, on Earth Day April 22nd 2014.

I intend to be a part of this revolution to change the planet for the better and hope other will join me in this mission. We currently have openings for members so please visit htt://www.AustinRESA.com to learn more about Austin RESA, our upcoming events and to explore ways that you can “Be the change you wish to see in the world!- Ghandi.
