Senate Standard 2.5

ACC Full-Time Faculty Senate Website

ACC Coronavirus page

Dear Faculty Colleagues,

Five weeks into the semester, with eleven more to go! Calendars are filling up with meetings while our TTD lists grow faster than we can knock items off. We’re all trying to squeeze in tasks disrupted during Spring and Summer 20 while keeping up with both the routine and unique tasks the semester brings. Various issues are emerging; perhaps the most important is when, how, and under what conditions campuses will re-open for all. The new Campus Climate survey (link provided last edition) reveals that areas of improvement remain, despite efforts to nurture a culture of communication, collaboration, and caring. Our various shared governance councils and committees have started meeting (or will be soon) to identify issues to tackle this year. I’m still slouching my way towards minimal competence in this president role. This week’s Standard includes a call for agenda items for the 10/9 FTF Senate meeting. You will also find announcements and links to the latest news from Chancellor Rhodes on the state of the college, initiatives, and challenges going forward. You’ll also find links to events hosted by Distance Education and the Center for Peace and Conflict Studies.

Have a great week!

Wayne
