Welcome to the Surgical Technology Program

Surgical technologists assist operating-room teams before, during, and after surgeries, along with other responsibilities. Graduates are eligible for work in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, or research facilities. The Surgical Technology program is designed to prepare entry-level Surgical Technologists who are competent in the cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains to enter the profession. The Austin Community College Surgical Technology Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Accrediting Review Council on Education in Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (ARC/STSA) (www.arcstsa.org).
