The Surgical Technology Department will be allowing applications for Spring 2021 to be submitted with the required prerequisites in progress for Fall 2020. Please submit your application to healthsciences@austincc.edu.

Surgical Technology Updates

  • Job Opportunity for Surgical Technology Students

    Dell Children's Medical Center is starting a new program for fetal interventional surgery (surgery on babies while they are still in utero). It will be one of the only delivery units attached to a children's hospital. They are hiring two teams: one that will specialize in fetal interventional surgery (those postings will be at Dell Children's Medical Center) and another team to work in the maternal delivery unit (those postings will be at Ascension Seton Medical Center).   • TEAS Testing Requirements for Health Sciences Applicants

    A TEAS Exam score is required to apply to the following programs: Dental Hygiene, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiology, and Vocational Nursing.

    If you are not applying to one of the programs above, then you are not required to take the TEAS Exam at this time. Please refer to the Application Process page for your program to see all application requirements.

  • Anatomy and Physiology I Assessment Testing Suspended for Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Registration

    Due to COVID-19 and in response to ACC campuses limiting access to essential personnel only, the A&P I Assessment Test has been suspended for the remainder of the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 registration periods.
