Your first step is to apply to Austin Community College.

Welcome to the Veterinary Technology Program

Veterinary technicians are trained in the care and handling of animals, the basic principles of normal and abnormal physiology, and in routine diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures. Veterinary technicians work under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian, performing a wide variety of tasks. Once credentialed, veterinary technicians can also specialize in a particular discipline. Specialties include dentistry, anesthesia, surgery, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, clinical pathology, nutrition, equine nursing and zoological medicine.

Austin Community College is working with area animal shelters to find forever homes for pets who were trained and cared for by students in the Veterinary Technology Program. Click here for more information.
