Re:                  Cyber Security Annual Training

Austin Community College takes information security extremely seriously. To help ensure all employees understand the college’s security expectations, and what you can do to help protect not only yourself but the organization, we will be kicking off an ongoing security awareness program that all employees and contractors will be required to take.  This training covers a variety of topics that apply not to just work but also home, including how to secure personal information for yourself and your family.  In addition we will be providing materials throughout the year to keep you updated.  We will be testing understanding of this training with a quiz at the end, as well as continuing awareness surveys and assessments.

You can access the online awareness training with your ACC eID login at  You are required to complete this initial training by the end of September 2017. This is mandatory annual training and will be required for all current employees.

The training is broken down into short modules lasting from half a minute up to six and a half minutes. There are 18 core modules assigned to everyone, with additional modules assigned based on job responsibilities.  There are a few optional modules offered but mandatory modules must be completed by the deadline to avoid suspension of your ACC login.

If you have any questions about this program or suggestions on how to improve it, please contact Information Security Office via They are responsible for our security awareness program and will be happy to hear from you.

Human Resources department will be updating their website to include this mandatory training which will be required annually for all employees and within sixty days for new hires. The link is available under Mandatory Compliance Training at
