The 2017 CSO Summit: Community Colleges as Drivers for Regional Economic Development was held at ACC on April 7-8. The summit was hosted by AC2 Regional Bio-Link, Bio-Link, and ACC’s Bioscience Incubator, and featured discussions on how community colleges can pursue biotech activities that make a difference in local and national economies. The summit was attended by community college leaders from throughout the country. Dr. Edgar Trout, Assistant Dean, Long Island University, kicked off the summit with a presentation on integrating business decision making in biosciences courses. The attendees also toured the Bioscience Incubator before several panels were held further promoting economic development, student success, and training a skilled workforce for the biosciences.
