ABOUT KIPP AUSTIN PUBLIC SCHOOLS: KIPP Austin is a network of free, public, open enrollment schools for low‐income and historically underserved students in Austin, Texas. There are currently nine schools in the KIPP Austin network: four elementary schools, four middle schools and one high school. Our district includes ten schools serving students from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Data Operations Leader is a new role at our school. This position plays a central role in creating and executing data collection and reporting systems to ensure that the school is responsive to all constituents, as well as high-functioning. The Data Operations Leader will work closely with the school’s leadership team, the front office team and the regional team to execute projects including testing coordination, TELPAS testing and reporting, creation of data reports and using data to assign students to appropriate interventions. All KIPP Austin staff have a responsibility for ensuring that every KIPP Austin student achieves the academic skills, intellectual habits and character traits necessary to succeed in the nation’s top colleges and universities.

Compensation for this role is $42-45k, based on experience.

-2 years’ experience working in a school setting
-Excellent organizational, verbal, and written skills
-Excellent computer skills, including Google Drive, Illuminate, Microsoft Excel
-Project management skills
-Bilingualism preferred

The unique conditions of founding a school will also present opportunities for staff members to participate in developing and improving systems, strategic planning and recruiting students, families and staff as our school grows. Any expanded areas of responsibility will be determined based on needs of the school and strengths of the individual.

-Collaboration with Stakeholders
-Serve as liaison between the campus and region for all data and testing-related information
-Collaborate with the school’s leadership team to identify data needs and brainstorm solutions
-Teach others to use data reports and systems to make informed decisions
-Data Management
-Manage the collection and analysis of data in order to place students in the appropriate academic intervention
-Create and implement processes for the collection, storage, analysis and presentation of academic data

-Systems and Logistics
--Coordinate the processes required for local, state and national testing including:
--Common Unit Assessments
--Local Placement Tests
--ACT Testing
--STAAR Testing
--TELPAS Testing
--AP Testing
--MAP Testing

-Create systems for collecting and tracking local data in a way that is accessible for teachers and leaders
-Modify daily bell schedules as needed to support testing
Streamline systems for efficient retesting of students who miss major assessments
-Manage the posting and preparation of substitute teachers
-Work with feeder middle schools to collect data needed for master scheduling of incoming 9th graders
Support additional tasks, as needed
