Q1: Do I need to have my own laptop to excel in the CIS Department?
A: Not necessarily, though having a laptop is something we recommend whenever possible. However, since student life can be one short on cash, we will always have machines you can use in the CIS labs. We have noticed that several students use $200 laptops … which work just fine! Feel free to ask your instructors and/or classmates for recommendations or vist one of our Labs.
