Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society for the Two Year College has elected Austin Community College honor student Arthur Vargas as the organization’s new international president.

Vargas is an officer of Phi Theta Kappa’s ACC chapter, Alpha Gamma Pi. In his new position, he will travel all over the U.S. and possibly to Germany and Canada.

ACC’s chapter was also recognized as one of the “Top One Hundred Chapters” out of 1,300 chapters in the organization. This is the first time an ACC student has served as an international officer for the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society.
