Austin–Austin Community College, Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corp. and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will host a Get in Gear for College Workshop on Saturday, August 24, at ACC’s Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Rd., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Representatives from seven area colleges and universities will discuss educational opportunities for college-bound students. Additionally, there will be an opportunity for students to complete financial aid applications online.

The keynote speaker will be the Honorable Wilhelmina Delco, who will discuss the importance of a college education.
