Narrowing the Nursing Gap

ACC’s Vocational Nursing Department was recently commended by the Board of Nurse Examiners For the State of Texas for having a 98 percent pass rate on the 2005 National Counsel Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN). Additionally, ACC’s Fredericksburg class was recognized for a 100 percent pass rate on the same exam.

On May 11, ACC’s Associate Degree Nursing program graduated 63 students. The next step for these graduates is to take the NCLEX for Registered Nurses and enter the professional world of health-care providers which currently suffers from a critical shortage of nurses. The Vocational Nursing Department also graduated 26 students who will take the NCLEX for Practical Nurses.
