Trustees Say Goodbye to Long-Standing Member

Austin, TX – June 7, 2006 – Austin Community College Board of Trustees held a farewell ceremony on Monday night for Trustee Dr. John Worley. Worley, who voters elected to the board in 1994 and again in 2000, chose not to run for re-election this year after serving on the board for 12 years. Worley has been an assistant attorney general since 1989 and currently works in the child support division of the Office of the Attorney General of Texas.

Among a long list of accomplishments during his tenure on the board, Worley is best known for his advocacy for better pay for adjunct faculty, his support of a living wage for ACC staff, and for his leadership in the development of the Eastview Campus and South Austin Campus.
