ACC talks nano at Dallas conference

Texas is staking its future on a tiny technology, and Austin Community College will present an update on Central Texas’ progress for the upcoming nanoTX ’06 conference in Dallas.

will bring business leaders, researchers, and investors to the Dallas Convention Center on Sept. 27-28 to learn more about progress toward key nano industries across Texas. The conference is sponsored by the Texas Nanotechnology Initiative; ACC is a co-sponsor.

ACC representatives will give an update on a Central Texas workforce initiative to develop nano skill training for the electronics industry. The presentation “Everything’s Smaller in Texas: Nanoelectronics Workforce Training and Education” focuses on their efforts to design nano education and training tools for all education levels, from associate degree technicians to Ph.D.-level researchers.

During the conference, ACC representatives will also present “Nano 101,” a non-techie’s guide to nanotechnology. “Nano 101” gives an overview of nanotechnology and its potential impact.
