Fundraiser to benefit military members overseas

Phi Theta Kappa~Alpha Gamma Pi is promoting a service project to benefit military members in Iraq during the holidays.
A kickoff drive will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northridge Campus in front of building 1000. ACC organization MUSE has scheduled live musical acts, and a DJ has also donated his time. A raffle and silent auction will be held, from which the proceeds will cover shipping expenses.
Local businesses donated gift certificates, and many area schools are creating holiday cards for the servicemen and women.
Adopt-A-Platoon assigned this project to a chaplain in Iraq, who is responsible for more than 500 service members receiving the items. The project will continue until Nov. 17.
