Discussion Held in Conjunction with ‘Funny House’

The Austin Community College Drama Department will host a salon and discussion, “Adrienne Kennedy and Autobiography on the American Stage,” at 6 p.m. Monday, February 26, at Eastview Campus, Building 2000, Student Lounge.
This event is offered in conjunction with the ACC-ProArts Collective co-production of Kennedy’s “Funny House of a Negro.” The evening offers an open discussion about the roles of race, gender, and history in the United States and in the work of Adrienne Kennedy. The salon includes actors from “Funny House of a Negro” performing selected scenes. It also features Dr. Kimberly Brown from Texas A&M University, Sharon Bridgforth and Joni L. Jones from the University of Texas, and ACC’s Marcus McQuirter, director of “Funny House.”
This event is co-sponsored by ProArts Collective, Drama Department at ACC, Arts and Humanities Division at ACC, African American Cultural Center at ACC, and Humanities Texas. The project is made possible in part with a grant from Humanities Texas, the state partner of the National Endowment for the Humanities
