Austin Community College’s Drama Department, in collaboration with ProArts Collective, presents poet and dramatist Adrienne Kennedy’s “Funnyhouse of a Negro” at Rio Grande’s Gallery Theater beginning Friday, February 23, at 8 p.m.
In this play, Queen Victoria, Patrice Lumumba, and Jesus co-exist as the incarnations of a tormented black woman. ACC student Feliz McDonald stars, along with guest artists from ProArts Collective.
The show runs from February 23-25 and March 2-4, with Friday and Saturday performances beginning at 8 p.m. Sunday shows begin at 2 p.m.
Admission is by donation, with proceeds going to the new Boyd Vance Scholarship Fund.
