The Austin Community College District’s Jazz Ensemble will be recording a special CD to send to the Virginia Tech University music department in an expression of concern and support.
The ensemble will record the CD during an open session Thursday, April 26, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. at Northridge Campus, Building 4000, in the large lecture hall. Musical arrangements by Tom Husak, music professor and ensemble director, include American jazz selections from the Great American Songbook, “Come Sunday” by Duke Ellington, and one of Husak’s new jazz suites, “Jazz Americana.”
“Music is the tie that binds us all,” said Husak, “and this is ACC’s effort to create that caring bond.”
