Celebrate Emancipation Day in Texas with Austin Community College on Tuesday, June 19, at Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road, from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Juneteenth’s origin is unique to Texas, parts of Louisiana, and Arkansas because of the actions of General Gordon Granger on June 19, 1865, when he declared an end to slavery in Texas.
