ACC Foundation Adds Three Distinguished Leaders to Board

Austin, TX – June 26, 2007 – The Austin Community College District Foundation is proud to announce the addition of three new board members: David Bender, chief financial officer, Maxwell Locke & Ritter; Butch Hayes, partner, Fulbright & Jaworski; and Danner Bethel, managing director, Public Strategies.

“We are pleased to add three outstanding individuals who are passionate about education,” said Alex Brown, ACC Foundation chair. “There is no doubt our new members will assist the foundation in its mission of providing students with the means for accessing higher education and training at the Austin Community College District.”

Bender attended ACC before transferring to the University of Texas, and worked for Price Waterhouse before joining Maxwell Locke & Ritter. Hayes, an expert in employment litigation, also handles commercial litigation relating to trade-secret theft and commercial and stock-related disputes. Bethel brings more than a decade of experience in public-policy, government, and nonprofit sectors.

The ACC Foundation was established in 1991 to support college initiatives through financial assistance. It is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, tax exempt corporation. The foundation raises funds to ensure student success and develop community support for ACC. Current fund-raising efforts focus on student scholarships.
