In Need of some Motivation? Women’s Conference Can Help

Austin, TX – July 18, 2007 – Barbara Jordan once said, “Education remains the key to both economic and political empowerment.” These words from Texas’ first African American female senator still ring true today.

Education, encouragement and empowerment are three themes surrounding the third annual Women’s Health, Motivation and Empowerment Conference. The FREE event is for women who seek to enhance their lives personally and professionally. Session topics will focus on education, health, career development, inspiration/motivation, relationship building and child/teen development.

Participants will also hear a keynote address from Dr. Michele Rountree of the University of Texas at Austin school of social work.

WHEN: Saturday, July 21, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Austin Community College District (ACC) Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road, building 8000

The event is sponsored by Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation, Planned Parenthood, Austin Parks and Recreation, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and the ACC District.
