College Community and Public Invited to Discuss/Debate Constitutional Rights

WHAT: What does the United States Constitution guarantee us? Are the rights of Americans under attack? Come debate, learn and exchange knowledge of the Constitution with Austin Community College District (ACC) students and faculty, outside experts and community residents. Guests are encouraged to discuss specific constitutional issues, reach their own conclusions, and discuss how the Constitution applies to contemporary issues.

WHEN: Thursday, September 20, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

WHERE: Building 8000, Room 8500 (Multipurpose Room) at ACC’s Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road, Austin

WHO: Hosted by the ACC Center for Public Policy and Political Studies, the Government Department, and the Division of Social & Behavioral Sciences

EVENT HOST: F. Scott McCown, executive director of the Center for Public Policy & Priorities and former state district judge

Free and open to the public (appropriate for ages 13 and up).
