Bistro Cruises You Back to the Days of Queen Victoria

Austin, TX – September 26, 2007 – Have you imagined the cuisine that graced the dining halls of the world’s great luxury liners as they voyaged the Atlantic?

Now you can experience it for yourself.

Over nine weeks, Bistro 3158 offers a fine dining experience that captures the glamour, grace, and flavors of the famous trans-Atlantic cruise ships.

Each evening features a different liner and regional cuisine, from the SS Ile de France’s European flavors to the SS Empress of Australia’s East Asian menu. Diners can sign up as either first-class, second-class or third-class passengers, with different prices and menus offered.

Your guides on the voyage will be Austin Community College students in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management and Meeting & Event Planning programs.

“Students prepare the most incredible dishes that are so authentic to the regions they study,” said Virginia Lawrence, hospitality management professor. “The quality of the food only tips the iceberg of the real talents of what is behind it, the students themselves.”

Bistro 3158 is located at the Eastview Campus and is open on Thursdays at 6 p.m.

Visit the full menu and make your reservation soon, as space is limited.
