CapMetro stops at Rio Grande for community discussion

Gas prices keep going up, and predictions call for it to reach as high as $5 per gallon later this summer. That has commuters, including ACC faculty, staff and students, seeking alternative ways to get to work or school. A recent article in the Austin-American Statesman pointed out that bus ridership has increased significantly, and they’re encouraging others to “Dump the Pump.”

CapMetro is hosting a Community Discussion to help faculty, staff, and students with their commuting needs. It will be 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 24, at the Rio Grande Campus Gallery Theater.

In the meantime, did you know students can get a monthly pass on CapMetro for as low as $5? Or that CapMetro runs a website that helps you get from one destination to another?

If you’re looking to save money on your next commute, dump the pump and visit the following site to plan your next trip around town: www.capmetro.org/riding/tripplanner.asp.
