ACC launches new healthcare workers

Health Sciences honor summer graduates

The Austin Community College District is sending more than 140 new healthcare graduates into the workforce with three days of celebrations at the Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road.

The Health Sciences Division has scheduled five completion ceremonies between Thursday and Saturday to better accommodate the graduates and their guests in the Eastview Campus Multipurpose Room, Building 8000.

Graduates from 10 programs of study will be recognized. They include Medical Laboratory Technology, Molecular Diagnostics, Nursing, Personal Fitness Training, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, and Radiology.

“It’s a true point of pride to see these students moving to fill the critical needs of our community’s healthcare system,” says Dr. Eileen Klein, executive dean of the Health Sciences Division. “Our graduates have worked hard and received excellent training., so they will be able to contribute immediately to the quality of life in Central Texas.”
