Winter Break Hours for Students. Austin Community College offices will close for winter break at 5 p.m. Monday, December 22, through Sunday, January 4. However, there are reduced services 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. December 29-30 at the Rio Grande Campus so students can complete the admission process or register for classes.

The Scoop on Round Rock. The community is invited to a groundbreaking ceremony for the Round Rock Campus at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 5. The event marks the official start for the race to open doors to ACC’s newest and biggest campus. Pending cooperative weather, the project is on schedule to open in 2010 as planned.  You can keep up with the project at the Round Rock Campus website.

Parking Garage Moves to New Level. Revised plans for the Rio Grande Campus parking garage call for a seventh floor to accommodate 90 additional vehicles. But you don’t have to take our word for it. AutoCAD Degree Builds to a Bachelor’s. A new agreement allows AutoCAD students to earn their bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. Austin Community College and A&M-Commerce have approved a transfer agreement that lets students complete most of their coursework at ACC, then transfer to A&M-Commerce and finish their final 36 credits online.

The highlight of the semester is Carnival Ah!, which will showcase the thinking, craftsmanship, and creativity of all areas in the division, from Creative Writing, to Foreign languages, to Art, Drama, and Dance.
