Austin Community College is hosting silent and live auctions at the ACC{Who Knew anniversary party and scholarship benefit at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 23, at the Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road.

A highlight of the evening is a silent auction featuring up to 30 Art Department faculty and student works in a variety of media. Silent bidding begins at 6 p.m. and continues throughout the evening. Auction proceeds go toward the Presidential Scholarship Fund.

A live auction provides guests a fantastic opportunity to bid on the following items:

Get an autographed copy of “Keep Austin Weird: A Guide to the Odd Side of Town”signed by the author, ACC librarian and “Keep Austin Weird” originator Red Wassenich. The top bidder also gets one-day, exclusive use of the famous El Arroya letterboard sign near MoPac and 5th St. to make up your own slogan or greeting. Retail value: Priceless (or $24.95, according to the publisher)

ACC’s celebrity chefs Brian Hay and Brian McCormick will come to your home and prepare a special 3-course gourmet dinner to serve eight people. (Alcohol must be purchased by the winner.) This auction item includes an autographed DVD of trailers from the Culinary Arts’ hit series “Austin Cooks.” Estimated value: $2,500
