Will the parking garage be finished in time for the fall semester?
I do not want to enroll in any classes at Rio Grande until the parking improves.
Thanks,
Jerry Lee

The Rio Grande Campus Parking Garage will be completed for Fall 2009 semester. The new Garage will provide 543 parking spaces for cars as well as motorcycle parking areas.
The parking situation at Rio Grande Campus will improve with the new garage opening, but there still will be parking challenges to be addressed as we move forward.
Thanks for the comment and please let us know how we can be of further assistance.

Even though a new parking garage may not seem like it would ever need maintenance. What are the current Preventative Maintenance Plans for the new garage? The reason I ask is, as a student making observations everyday–previously at NRG and now at RGC–I do not see any proactive maintenance other than the changing of air filters. Everything else seems to be reactive (wait until it breaks).
Examples of preventative maintenance would include: Checking lighting for proper operation (on/off at dusk & dawn), alarm system functioning, drainage system functioning, repainting of lines, ensuring all posted signs are present, etc…

ACC employs a staff of Building Maintenance personnel, Electricians, HVAC Technicians, Painters, and other personnel who contribute to maintenance and renovations district-wide in addition to contract Custodians and other vendors hired by the college to provide services common with upkeep and continued operation of any facility. ACC has nine educational and/or administrative campuses which include Cypress Creek, Eastview, Highland Business Center, Northridge, Pinnacle, Rio Grande, Riverside, South Austin, and Service Center which comprise over 325 acres currently. We are as diligent as possible in regards to preventative maintenance and test all of our systems on a regular basis commonly at off-peak hours or during semester intercession to disrupt as few as possible. If you have a specific concern regarding maintenance, please bring this to the attention of the campus administration. Thank you for your question and your concern.
