Austin Community College will host a Veterans Appreciation and Open House 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 25, at the Riverside Campus, 1020 Grove Blvd.

Veterans will be able to meet with ACC student services staff and the Office for Students with Disabilities and learn about the latest changes to the GI Bill and other benefits.

During the open house students can receive help with VA paperwork, application materials, financial assistance, degree and transfer planning, ask questions about post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and meet members of ACC’s Veterans Club.

Food, entertainment, and children’s activities will also be provided.

Veterans planning to attend ACC this fall are encouraged to obtain copies of their DD-214 and 2008 tax returns, official high school and college transcripts, and photo identification as soon as possible to take advantage of their educational benefits this fall.
