Deadline Extended for “Business in China” Study Abroad Program

ACC has extended the deadline to apply for its “Business in China” study abroad program. Applications are now being accepted through Tuesday, December 15. Students will gain insight into the economy, government, and culture of China by traveling to Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai in March 2010.

Participants will earn credit for BUSG 1191 over spring break, March 11-21. The program will include periodic classes, lectures, museum tours, and other cultural activities. Students will be responsible for keeping a journal and writing a reflection paper at the end of the trip. There will be four pre-trip classes with lectures on Chinese culture, government, history, and language, with an emphasis on the Chinese economy and its relationship to the U.S. economy.

“This trip provides an excellent opportunity for students to get a real understanding of today’s global economy,” says Dr. Reed Peoples, a Business and Accounting instructor who will lead the group. “They will also see that while a country’s culture may be unique, people from different parts of the globe are in fact very similar. We all have the same likes and dislikes, the same desires and dreams.”
