In an effort to increase the number of skilled workers in high-demand occupations, the 2009 Texas Legislature approved funding for the Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) Program.

The Austin Community College District has been awarded a portion of these funds to use for scholarships for students enrolled in programs for high-demand occupations, including Computer & Information Sciences & Support Services, Construction Trades, Health Professions & Related Clinical Sciences, and more.
