University students participate in press conference on new legislation

Student leaders from area colleges will join U.S. Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-Austin) at Austin Community College’s Rio Grande Campus at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, to discuss increases in student financial aid through the Student Aid and Fiscal Responsibility Act.

Doggett says the measure will provide Texans $2.5 billion in direct student financial assistance over the next decade.

Student representatives from ACC, the University of Texas at Austin, St. Edward’s University, Texas State, and Huston-Tillotson will share what the changes mean for them and their peers.
