ACC Recognized for Excellence in Accounting and Financial Reporting

The Austin Community College District is being recognized for excellence in accounting and financial reporting for the seventh consecutive year. The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded ACC the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting – the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting and financial reporting.

“The Certificate of Achievement is an important indicator of ACC’s dedication to openness and transparency in financial reporting,” says Ben Ferrell, the college’s executive vice president for finance and administration. “ACC is committed to complying with the highest standards of accounting and reporting for public colleges and universities.”

The award honors ACC for its comprehensive annual financial report for the 2009 fiscal year. An impartial panel determined the report met the high standards of the GFOA, including demonstration of a spirit of full disclosure that clearly communicates the college’s financial story.
