The campuses will be located within Elgin ISD and Hays CISD (Buda/Kyle). The names, approved by the board at its December 14 meeting, will be ACC Elgin Campus and ACC Hays Campus.
The college has entered into contracts for 98 acres in Elgin and 96 acres in Kyle. The college will break ground on the new campuses in 2011.
Voters in both communities approved annexation into the ACC District in elections held in November 2010. Elgin ISD and Hays CISD residents are immediately eligible for in-district tuition ($42 per credit hour), a 72 percent reduction compared with the out-of-district rate ($150 per credit hour).

What happened to awesome campus names like “Northridge”, “Riverside”, and “Pinnacle”. I guess it started to go downhill with “South Austin Campus”.
Way not to keep Austin weird.

@ACC Observer: “Riverside” is not an awesome campus name. It’s the name of the street interecting with Grove. What do you suggest for a name? For Elgin, maybe something related to Sausage?
Last I checked, Elgin and Hays were not part of Austin.

Riverside is the name of the community so I would think its much better than something like “ACC Southeast Campus.” I do agree that it went WAY downhill with “South Austin Campus.”
I really do think they could have been much creative with the names. Such a shame.

Giving them straightforward names makes a lot of sense. Sure, it isn’t much fun, but it is clear, and the larger the ACC District gets, the more clarity it needs.
