ACC Drama Department Presents ‘Rough Magic’ Feb. 25-27, March 4-6

It’s a tempest in Manhattan when the ACC Drama Department presents “Rough Magic” for two weekends beginning February 25 at the Rio Grande Campus.

The play is directed by David Yeakle, ACC adjunct associate professor of drama who also serves as artistic director of Austin’s Tongue and Groove Theatre.

In “Rough Magic,” written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, a vengeful Prospero steps out of the pages of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” and threatens death and destruction in modern-day Manhattan. A dramaturge with magical powers and her team of motley misfits must save the day.

Audiences can see “Rough Magic” February 25-27 and March 4-6 in the Mainstage Theatre of the Rio Grande Campus, 1212 Rio Grande St. Times are 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays.

Suggested donations are $5 for students and $10 for general admission. Proceeds benefit the drama and dance scholarship fund.
