ACC Honors Continuing Education Students at Graduation Ceremony

The Continuing Education Division (CE) of ACC held its third annual graduation ceremony at Eastview Campus this month. More than 500 students have completed CE workforce training certificates since 2010.

The executive dean of CE, Hector Aguilar, presided over the festivities. The keynote speaker was Stacy Dukes-Rhone, the executive director of BigAustin, a non-profit that provides entrepreneurial education, business counseling, and loan services.

CE offers non-credit educational options that respond to business and workforce development needs and fulfill students’ professional and personal goals. Offerings include Accounting & Bookkeeping, Web Design, Dental Tech, Nurse Aide, Massage Therapy, Medical Transcription, Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, IT Project Management, Vet Tech, Activity Director, and Renewable Energy. Some CE workforce programs can be completed in one semester.

“ACC encourages people throughout its service area to pursue training and educational opportunities that meet their needs,” says Shelley Attix, coordinator of CE workforce special projects. “That is exactly what we at the ACC Continuing Education Division strive to offer the community. Whether individuals are just getting their start in the workforce or motivated to further their careers, CE offers an exceptional range of both professional development and customized training.”
