Program Focuses on the Future of Sustainable Design

ACC’s Continuing Education Division is offering individuals the chance to design their own sustainable lifestyle during a five-day Sustainable Designs Systems Camp.

The camp is July 18-22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Road. The camp is designed for adults and youth over age 12. Cost is $300. Enrollment is limited.

Participants will learn conscious design, creation, and maintenance of sustainable human settlements through hands-on activities. They will have opportunities to create a perennial food garden, work with clay, sand, and straw to create earthen building materials, and assemble a rainwater collection system.

“These skills are helpful for anyone – whether it’s young students who are interested in pursuing a sustainable design career or adults who want to start living a sustainable life,” says Sharon Duncan, director of Continuing Education’s Teaching & Learning Center

The camp is organized by the Teaching & Learning Center, which provides learning opportunities for area families, youth, and teachers.

To register for the camp, fill out and send the registration form to Austin Community College, 5930 Middle Fiskville Road; Suite 417.6, Austin, TX 78752 or to [email protected].
