Medical Helicopter to Land at ACC to Give EMT Students Hands-On Lesson

Austin Community College District emergency medical technician students will get a hands-on lesson in air ambulance procedures Thursday, July 21, when Stat Air lands a medical helicopter at ACC’s Cypress Creek Campus (1555 Cypress Creek Rd. in Cedar Park; approximately 6:45 p.m.).

“This lesson is one example of ACC’s commitment to providing students the full range of experiences they will encounter in this fast-paced and challenging profession,” says Terri King, adjunct associate professor for Emergency Medical Services Professions and commander for Williamson County EMS. “Students are introduced to the many facets of public safety they can pursue upon graduation.”

This spring, 100 percent of students in ACC’s EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate, and Paramedic programs passed the National Registry exams. The college’s Emergency Medical Services Professions Department is nationally accredited.
