Where the Jobs Are: ACC Training Highlighted in Austin American-Statesman

The economy may be tough, but there are jobs in demand in Central Texas. You just have to know what fields to consider – and get the right training. ACC is the region’s primary trainer and re-trainer of the workforce, with more than 235 degrees and certificates, many in high-demand career fields.

So what are those high-demand career fields? Workforce Solutions-Capital Area developed a list of occupations that are growing and present opportunities for high-skill, high-wage jobs. The Austin American-Statesman recently profiled some of those occupations and Central Texans getting trained at ACC. A front-page story and photos highlighted the Utility Lineworker, Automotive Technology, Biotechnology, and Emergency Medical Services Professions programs.
