ACC Golf Scramble to Benefit Student Emergency Fund

The Austin Community College District will host its sixth annual golf scramble Friday, October 7, at the Riverside Campus golf course. The event benefits the ACC Foundation’s student emergency fund, which provides assistance to students who encounter a catastrophic situation that would otherwise prevent them from continuing their education.

To date, ACC has distributed more than $65,000 to students through the fund.

“The student emergency fund really can make a difference in students’ lives,” says John Hernandez, an ACC Foundation board member and former college trustee who started the golf scramble. “The recent wildfires, which have affected a number of ACC students and staff, demonstrate how important it is to have a resource to help those in crisis.”

Last year’s golf scramble raised $24,000. The event is co-sponsored by SpawGlass.
