ACC Student Newspaper Honored at State Convention

ACC’s student newspaper received high honors at the Texas Community College Journalism Association’s state convention in October. The Accent staff won nearly 27 awards, including the prestigious sweepstakes award for its division and first place for general excellence.

“I am really proud of all of the hard work our staff has put into making the Accent such a great newspaper and resource for Austin Community College students,” said Karissa Rodriguez, Accent’s editor-in-chief.

Accent’s website, theaccent.org, won second place. The 2010 edition of Life4U, an ACC student magazine, won four awards.
