Jazz Ensemble Teams with Guest Artists for Dell Children’s Benefit Dec. 8

The Austin Community College District Jazz Ensemble is teaming with special guest artists for a performance to benefit Children’s Medical Center Foundation of Central Texas. The group raises funds to support Dell Children’s Medical Center.

The benefit show is set for Thursday, December 8 (7:30-10 p.m.) at Frontier Bar, 2421 Webberville Rd. Cover is $5. The event will feature the Jazz Ensemble playing with Grammy-winning guitarist Redd Volkaert and singers Karma Stewart and Marvin Crowe.

“Prepare for a rocking performance, featuring styles from blues and jazz to country-swing, Latin, and more,” says Dr. Tom Husak, Jazz Ensemble director. “This is going to be a great show for an equally great cause.”

Children’s Medical Center Foundation works with families, individuals, and organizations to support Dell Children’s mission of serving children in the 46-county region of Central Texas.

“Dell Children’s is a pediatric hospital caring for sick and injured children in our area – regardless of their ability to pay. No child is turned away!” says Jayme Clark with Children’s Medical Center Foundation. “Dell Children’s Medical Center is a tremendous asset to our community. Made possible by the support of friends like the ACC Jazz Ensemble, this facility provides exceptional care that’s close to home for thousands of children in the Central Texas area.”
