2012 Leadership Award Recipients Exemplify Excellence

The recipients of Austin Community College’s 2012 Leadership Awards have been announced. The winners are their categories are:

Thom McFarland, Learning Lab instructional associate: Professional-Technical Employee of the Year

Joel Perez, Biology Department science lab technician: Classified Employee of the Year

Catherine Mas, Supplemental Instruction & Bridge Program recruiter/advisor: Student Success Award

Gale Spear, child development professor: Servant-Leadership Award

“These deserving individuals were nominated by their colleagues in recognition of their exceptional efforts in supporting the important work of ACC,” says Christina Michura, professional development coordinator. “Through the leadership of these individuals, and others like them, ACC excels in service to the students and the communities of Central Texas.”

Recipients were chosen by the Leadership Awards committee, comprising representatives from all employee groups. In addition to a letter from ACC President Dr. Richard Rhodes, award winners will be recognized at a Board of Trustees meeting and will receive a plaque and a designated parking space at their home campus for one year.
