ACC District Police is presenting “Crime Prevention and Active Shooter Q&A” during ACC’s Emergency Preparedness Week, Jan. 30-Feb. 3. Topics range from crime prevention and how to respond if a gunman is reported on campus.
“We provide students and employees with information and options that allow them to make informed decisions on their personal safety,” says Police Chief Lynn Dixon.
The “Crime Prevention and Active Shooter Q&A” lasts 1½ hours and covers safety precautions, policies, and procedures if a crime were to happen on an ACC campus. One of the most important topics of the seminar is to how to respond, and survive, if someone were to encounter an active shooter at ACC.
“Police can only do so much,” Dixon says. “You need to learn how to react so we can watch out for each other and help each other.”

Why are these only during the day? Why are there not multiple seminars at different times during the day? ACC needs to start catering these types of things to ALL students, and not just the ones that go to class from 9am – 2pm.
